Earth Science Exploration – Science on a Sphere – Take a journey around the globe and beyond on our spectacularly large NOAA Science Science On a Sphere exhibit. Join specialists from UW-Madison's Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) to explore the basics of Earth system science, remote sensing, satellite visualizations, and the latest in weather and climate news from CIMSS's EarthNow project.
Pursuit of Light – Immersion Theater – In this awesome new film, NASA presents the Earth, the planets, the Sun, and the endless universe beyond. Come for the cool, stay for the music, take away a sense of wonder to share. Built from some of the biggest datasets ever captured, the movie is a visual poem about up-to-the-minute areas of hot NASA research with an eye toward humanity’s place in a dynamic universe. Combined with arresting time lapse footage of the natural world and a moody, energetic score, PURSUIT OF LIGHT presents an exciting take on daring NASA science in the 21st century.
From Earth To The Universe – Lobby and Exhibit Hall - View this stunning display of beautiful images from NASA, with additions from local astronomers, on loan from the University of Wisconsin Astronomy Department (with explanations in English, Spanish, and Hmong).
Hands-on Exhibits – Interactive exhibits include Global Warming: Facts and Our Future created by the National Academy of Sciences, Madison Gas & Electric Renewable Energy Center, the Nina Leopold Bradley Phenology Center, Kids’ Climate Cast brought to you by WKOW- TV 27, and more!
ALNC’s new Wonder Weekends feature different topics each month and offer visitors of all ages guided experiences through ALNC’s new hands-on interactive exhibits. In addition, ALNC’s exhibits are open to the public Monday – Friday from 10 am – 4 pm for self-guided tours.
