Okay, we’ll admit it - the outdoors can be intimidating. What if you’re not a “hardcore” mountain climber, or an experienced birder or a naturalist who knows the name of every plant in the park? How do you jump in and start enjoying nature? What do you do out there?
Well, Amy Lou Jenkins would like to help you answer those questions! Her book, Every Natural Fact: Five Seasons of Open-Air Parenting, talks about an average mother’s nature exploration with her son. We’re hosting her book release party.

Every Natural Fact is a narrative of mother and son nature outings across Wisconsin. Not willing to assign wild spaces exclusively to those who conquer mountain summits or traverse class five rapids, Amy Lou and her son DJ simply explore nature together, unplugged from cell phones, iPods and computers. Amy Lou’s award-winning writing is rich in sensory immediacy, characterization, natural history, and humor.
