Take part in the 14th Annual Carden Alvar Butterfly Count! Situated east of Orillia, the Carden Alvar contains a diversity of globally rare alvar ecosystems and an astounding number of species. The sheer number of birds and plants that have been recorded here will amaze you, but what we’re really after are the butterflies! Under the guidance of local expert Bob Bowles, help NCC continue the collection of butterfly data by leaping across the alvars of Carden and see what you can snag in your net. Can you stump Bob with what you catch?
Please make sure you eat a solid breakfast, and pack a lunch to bring with you for the day of the event. Snacks and beverages will be provided by NCC to keep you energized and hydrated.
