Join us for an outdoor treasure hunt as we search for a few of the geocaches hidden around downtown Annapolis. If you are new to geocaching, this is a perfect opportunity to give it a try. There are two caches that are easy hunts for beginners. A third, more challenging cache, will also be on our to-do list. All caches are central to the State House
and an easy walk for all ages.
We'll meet on State House lawn at 10:00 (bench nearest East Street), split into groups and head out to find the first two caches. We'll meet back on the lawn later for a snack and to compare stories. Those interested in giving the third cache a try are welcome to do so! Those who would rather try that another day can head to the Newman Street playground for some playtime instead.
New to geocaching? Visit the official geocaching website
for details and to register as a user. What you'll need:
- Smart phone or hand-held GPS*
- A pen/pencil
- Drink and snack
*If you don't have a smart phone or GPS, no problem - someone in each group will. If you want to use your phone to navigate to the cache, you will need to download the mobile app from the Geocaching website first.
