Canceled! - Look up and see what is flying with Take A Kid Outdoors. Come celebrate Butterflies, Birds, Bugs and Flowers with TAKO. Adults gather your kids, come explore all that spring has to offer. TAKO is partnering with Grow Johnson County, the City of Iowa City, and the Johnson County Historical Society. Special guest may include a RAPTOR from the Iowa Raptor Project! Come make a bubble snake, find some birds and butterflies and more. Be prepared go on a short hike and possibly walk on some muddy trails. If the wind is right, bring a KITE!
Participants are urged to dress for the weather, as it may be cold and raining, but with the right gear we can have an amazing day on the farm. Lunch will be served at 11:30AM. Please help us reduce waste by bringing a water bottle, plates, silverware and other lunch items. Advance registration is requested, but not required. Directions: From Iowa City, take Melrose Avenue west of Mormon Trek Blvd under the Hwy 218 overpass to Grow: Johnson County @ the Johnson County Poor Farm.
Remember to dress appropriately; we may get wet, muddy and dirty! Layers are always a great option for Iowa weather conditions. Bring a hat, jacket, sunscreen, and any other items you may need to be comfortable in the outdoors. Remember to bring a camera!
This event is FREE and OPEN to the public.
