Event Description

Richard Louv is coming to Charlottesville to talk about ways that people of all ages can bring more nature into our lives. The event takes place on Thursday, March 15, at 7:00 P.M. at the Paramount Theater. Louv’s visit is sponsored by The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC), as part of its 40th anniversary celebration.

More information and tickets here: www.pecva.org/louv

PEC is also partnering with schools and community groups to follow the talk with a series of outdoor events—converting ideas into a real-life, local movement to help people and nature reconnect.

PEC President Chris Miller says, “For the last 40 years, we’ve been empowering people to act on their love for the land—with outstanding results, including almost 350,000 acres of private conservation land. The strong connection that people feel with the natural world makes all of our work possible. In return, the places we are protecting continue to offer opportunities for people to connect with nature—and lead happier, healthier lives.  So, curing Nature Deficit Disorder is a natural tie-in for The Piedmont Environmental Council.”

Tickets are $12/adult and $8/student. Sponsorship opportunities and VIP tickets are still available. Sponsorships can be made by individuals, businesses, and groups- or anonymously/on behalf of a school or charity- and include bulk groups of general admission and Meet-the-Author VIP Tickets.

A book signing follows the lecture, books will be available to purchase at the event, and any new or renewing PEC member at the $35 level will receive a free copy of Last Child in the Woods.
