Festival of Flight and Great Backyard Bird Count
Saturday, February 18
12 noon – 4:00
Free, no preregistration required
All ages welcome
It’s a bird, it’s a plane,… or it could be a bat, butterfly or seedpod! All things that float, flutter and fly will be explored. Be a Citizen Scientist and count the common birds that come to our feeder as part of the national Great Backyard Bird Count. Design your own flying seed carrier – will yours go the furthest? Become a migrating bird and go through twelve station to make it (we hope!) to your spring destination. Compare bird wings, feet and beaks to see the vast variety of engineering marvels. Look at bugs and bees and create your own insect. What mammals can truly fly, and which ones take to the air and glide? Go a little batty with us and come join the fun.
