Come and Learn to Fly Fish with Take A Kid Outdoors (TAKO) and the Hawkeye Fly Fishing Association (HFFA) at Liberty Centre, North Liberty. HFFA will be presenting information on Fly fishing. Come learn to fly cast and to tie flies. Maybe even catch that big fish! This is a wonderful event that is great for kids and adults of all ages. Bring a fishing pole if you have one, if not some will be available.
Come out and enjoy the warm weather. Participants should dress to get wet possibly muddy. Dress in layers and be prepared for a range of weather conditions. Bring a hat, work gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellant, drinking water, and any other items you may need to be comfortable in the outdoors. Participants are encouraged to bring a digital camera and/or binoculars.
The event will be held Saturday, September 6 starting at 10:00AM at Liberty Center, North Liberty Iowa. Liberty Center is located on the southwest quadrant of the Penn Street and Highway 965 intersection in North Liberty.
Note: If you want to fish, a fishing license is required for those older than 16 years of age. Licenses can be purchased online or local stores such as Fin & Feather
Lunch will be provided. Note this is not a peanut/nut free event. This event is FREE and OPEN to the public. Advance registration is requested, but not required. Please contact us via FACEBOOK or contact Judy Joyce email@example.com if you plan to bring a large group as it helps with planning for equipment and food for participants.
TAKO is a 501-C3 non-profit organization founded in 2006. TAKO is dedicated to providing immersive outdoor experiences, activities, and education to children and people of all ages in the great outdoors.
Note: TAKO is TAKE a kid outdoors, not LEAVE a kid outdoors. Children must be accompanied by an Adult. Typically, there is no charge for TAKO events.
