Did you know that June 2-4 are Free Fishing Days in Iowa? TAKO will be having their Free Family Fishing Event on Saturday June 4th. Activities begin at 10:00 AM. There will be live fish, experts from Scheels, food, and prize drawings. Bring a fishing pole if you have one, if not some will be available. This is the perfect event to bring your poles and tackle box so we can help you get organized for this fishing season. Get help from the experts on what to keep in your tackle box, how to tie knots, bait options, baiting a hook and many more! This is a wonderful event that is great for kids and adults of all ages. This event is co-sponsored by the Iowa DNR, the City of North Liberty, Stanley Consultants, Scheels and the North Liberty Optimist.
Fishing license requirements are waived for Iowa residents for these three days; all other fishing regulations are still in effect. Other than the Free Fishing Weekend (First Saturday after the First Friday in June), a 2016 fishing license is required for anglers 16 years and older. Licenses can be purchased online or at local stores such as Scheels, HyVee, and more.
Lunch will be served at 11:30AM. Please help us reduce waste by bringing a water bottle, plates, silverware and other lunch items. This event is FREE and OPEN to the public.
