Gobble! Gobble! Please join Take A Kid Outdoors (TAKO) on Saturday, November 18th rain or shine for our annual Gobble Wobble! We will lead a hike through the woods from the Tom Harkin trailhead to the Rotary Camp Park. The hikers will be challenged to shout "Gobble Gobble" every time they see something cool on the hike. After our hike, we will have a free lunch and a campfire to roast bananas.
Lunch will be served at noon and we will have some roasted pumpkin seeds to share! Please help us reduce wasted by bringing a water bottle, plates, silverware and other lunch items.
Participants should dress to get muddy. Dress in layers and be prepared for a range of weather conditions. Bring a hat, gloves, sunglasses, drinking water, and any other items you may need to be comfortable in the outdoors. Participants are encouraged to bring a camera and/or binocular. You may also bring a roasting stick!
DIRECTIONS: PARKING is very limited so we encourage everyone to share a ride, walk or ride your bike. We will meet and register at the trailhead off of Camp Cardinal Road then start the hike around 11:15 am! :)
NOTE: The address listed for our event is where participants will park and register. The actual site for our event is the Rotary Camp Park, which we will hike there together after registration.
This event is FREE and OPEN to the public. However, TAKO depends on donations to keep our events going, so please consider donating by clicking http://takeakidoutdoors.org/donate/. Thank you for your support!
Advance registration is requested, but not required. Questions about the event can be directed to TAKO Executive Director, Judy Joyce at (319)-358-2542 or by e-mail at email@example.com
