Event Description

Grand Canyon Youth is a non-profit organization based in Flagstaff, Arizona. They emphasize experiential education on the rivers of the Southwest, with specialized programs in science and art. Imagine an eight-day river trip through the Grand Canyon: learning camping and wilderness survival skills, making new life-long friends, running rapids, hiking in breath-taking scenery, and helping a professional scientist collect data. Grand Canyon Youth offers unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, and they ask their participants to earn it. Community service requirements, fund raising efforts, and educational presentations fall on the shoulders of youth in order for them to feel personal investment and ownership of their experience.
