Experience Summer Day Camp at Spirit Farm The Harmony Institute is offering children ages 8 – 13 a summer day camp experience at Spirit Farm. Two two-week sessions – one in July and one in August – will provide children with an enriching educational experience focusing on Florida’s heritage. Activities will include gardening, nature walks, animal tracking, animal care, horseback riding, crafts, reading, special presentations, and team sports as each child will spend one week as a “Pony” (a cowpoke) and one week as a “Hawk,” (a Seminole Indian).
The goal of the camp is to continue children’s education during the summer in a fun and engaging manner and atmosphere. Activities will expose campers to the natural world, helping to develop an appreciation for our area’s history and heritage while expanding environmental awareness, cultivating a respect for diversity; enhancing teamwork skills; increasing physical activity; learning healthy habits; deepening interest and knowledge in/of science, the arts, and language; and, of course, doing all this while having fun!
The Harmony Institute Summer Day Camp is limited to 12 children per session, so early registration is suggested. All activities will be coordinated and led by a certified Osceola County biology teacher and the Harmony Institute’s program coordinator.
The cost is $380 for each two-week session includes lunch and snacks. Sessions Monday through Friday from 9am to 3:30pm. The first session is July 5-16 and the second session is August 2-13. Early drop-off and late pick-up can be arranged for an additional fee.
