Event Description

IRVINE INSTITUTE COURSE: Designed for the beginner and intermediate avian enthusiast, this course will cover the mysteries of migration, nesting strategies, courtship behaviors, bird identification, conservation and more. Examine both rare and common Maryland birds and discuss some of the local, national and global environmental threats they face. In these 5 sessions, we’ll learn how citizens regularly contribute to the scientific knowledge of ornithology through bird counts, feeder-watch programs and nest-box monitoring.

Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 10 through 19, 7 – 8:30 p.m., and Saturday May 21; 8:30 -11:30 a.m.

$60 members, $80 non-members
