Event Description

Nuts for Norfolk
Date: Saturday, April 30, 2011
Closest Town: Walsingham, Ontario
Meeting Time: 9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Special Features: Guided property tour

It's time to go nuts for Norfolk! If you're as crazy about Norfolk County as NCC is, then this is the event for you! Come join our team as we sow acorns into a former agricultural field to restore it back to oak woodland habitat. This will encourage colonization by the area's rare species, such as Flowering Dogwood and American Badger. At the end of the day volunteers will be led on a guided property tour of the area's deciduous sand plain forests.

Please make sure you eat a solid breakfast, and pack a lunch to bring with you for the day of the event. Snacks and beverages will be provided by NCC to keep you energized and hydrated.
