Event Description

In 2008, after 100 years of absence from the landscape of Wisconsin, cougars began to reappear. At the same time, bobcat populations began to surge throughout the state, leading the WDNR to contemplate opening the southern part of Wisconsin to bobcat harvest. Join us as we explore the reasons behind their rise, how we know how many there are in the state, and what we can expect in the future. Presenter: Dr. Eric Anderson, professor of wildlife ecology at UW-Stevens Point. Refreshments and socializing at 6:30 pm. Talk begins at 7:00 pm. Sponsored by the Kickapoo Valley Reforestation Fund and the Friends of the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. Programs are free and open to the public. Kickapoo Valley Reserve, S3661 State Hwy 131, La Farge, WI 54639 - 608-625-2960 - http://kvr.state.wi.us.
