Please join Take A Kid Outdoors (TAKO) on Saturday, November 14th (rain/cold weather date Sunday, November 15th) for our annual Gobble Wobble! Please show up around 11:00. Risa Dotson Eicke, local nature enthusiast, will lead a 1 mile hike around the Woodpecker Trail Loop starting at about 11:15.
The hikers will be challenged to shout "Gobble Gobble" every time they see something cool on this 1 mile hike.
After the hike, we will have a free lunch and a small fire to roast marshmallows near the parking lot of the Trailhead.
For this event, we are partnering with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Coralville Lake.
Participants should dress for hiking. Dress in layers and be prepared for a range of weather conditions. Bring a hat, work gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, drinking water, and any other items you may need to be comfortable in the outdoors. Participants are encouraged to bring a digital camera and/or binoculars. You may also bring a roasting stick!
This event is FREE and OPEN to the public. Advance registration is requested, but not required. Questions about the event can be directed to TAKO Executive Director, Judy Joyce at (319)-330-3833 or by e-mail at earthview01@gmail.com.
