Oregon Boating Foundations Youth Kayak Day Camps provide a safe and enjoyable Summer paddling experience! Designed for youths ages 10 to 18 years of age, participants will learn basic kayak strokes, rescues and related skills.
Once a participant has completed our beginner camp, they are welcome to enroll in our intermediate camp, which includes a supervised overnight camping trip! After another fun week of kayaking, we'll paddle on the Yaquina River from Toledo, Oregon to Elk City, Oregon. Then we'll set up camp and stay the night before paddling back the next day.
Both camps meet from 9am until 4pm, Monday through Friday.
As a matter of safety, to be eligible for our camps participants must be able to tread water for 2 minutes, swim 50 yards (fully clothed) and put on a personal flotation device (life jacket) while in the water. During the camp participants will need to wear a well-fitted wetsuit or dry-suit and a Coast Guard approved life jacket with a whistle attached.
We will provide kayaks, paddles and related safety equipment for use during these camps. If you have any questions about our classes please contact us.
