I've been wondering... are YOU including the Night Sky in your outings?
Winter is creeping up on us here in South West Florida and I was wondering, what you are doing to include, or if you include, the night sky in your family outings.. The night sky is accessible from many places and even a light polluted area will still allow us to see the brighter stars, planets and the moon. Bright Jupiter is visible in the East around 11pm EST.
The Night Sky can be something easily left out of venturing into "The outdoors" but that doesn't have to be! Many of the smart phones have some pretty cool Star Gazing Programs available for download for nominal cost for phones and the pad devices. This Winter, try to include the Night Sky in your outings if possible. I am new to this group, and located in South West Florida but I would help anyone find resources to include the Night Sky into their children's programs. If you are in or near South West Florida this Jan-Feb or March, journey over to CREW and take in some Star Gazing programs!
I've included a December Star Gazing Star Chart that you can print out
and take on your next outing in Nature!
How are you including the Night Sky in our Outings?
