I've been elected to run the Exhibit committee at a local nature center. I'd like to plan new features that engage children and are appealing to them. Both so they want to come back, but also to encourage them to leave the nature center and go outside to explore.
I'm sure hands-on with real live critters is a winner, and the Nature Center already does that. I'm hoping folks here may have suggestions on other "exhibit"-type material has been successful and well liked.
Any comments on what has worked or not worked, or ideas I could explore will be appreciated!
The most popular exhibits at our Centers involve dressing up (ours is a firefighter outfit), looking through a view finder at different, changeable images, using a scope, and choosing audio by pressing buttons. Anything that engages rather than just providing information.
