Hi--I am a mother of two young daughters, an Environmental Education researcher and curriculum designer and huge supporter of the Children & Nature Movement. My contribution is to share the passion I feel toward nature and the outdoors and inspire others to feel the same. I provide opportunities for people to have direct, immersive experiences in nature. I especially like impacting teachers of young children who can bring their amazing experiences back into their classrooms to inspire their young students. There is nothing like the impact of a passionate teacher. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have the magical experience of being in the presence of a sea turtle when she lays her eggs. We can only bring a small group because of the sea turtle interaction part, which is a real privilege and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. My contact information is provided on the registration homepage. http://discoveryexpeditions.org/index.php/upcomin/preco
All the best,
Registration is Now Open! For Puerto Rico: Sea Turtle Nesting and Immersive Ecology and History Trip (and optional Graduate Course Credit)
The trip is an immersive field educational experience in a Spanish speaking country within the United States Common Wealth of Puerto Rico (adults only due to very late night for patrols and strong physical endurance that is required for excursions). We will be helping with leatherback sea turtle nesting patrols (the largest and most ancient of all sea turtles), as well as other immersive learning opportunities, such as kayaking on a bioluminescent bay, hiking in the rainforest, touring some caves and a coastal nature reserve, and historical tours in Old San Juan over Memorial Day Weekend. The trip is an accredited course through Dominican University and 2-3 graduate credits are available. The trip is also available as a trip on its own, without credit. http://discoveryexpeditions.org/index.php/upcomin/preco
