What are your thoughts to this:

UN Amendment -- "Access to Nature" -- a petition seeking an amendment to the UN Declaration for the Rights of the Child to include "Access to Nature."

Is pursuing this the right direction to go?

Last amended in 1989, there' s principle under the charter which states that all children "shall have full opportunity for play and recreation, which should be directed to the same purposes as education...".

The petition seeking an amendment to this principle, arguing that it should be changed to this:

The child shall have full opportunity for play, recreation and access to nature, which should be directed to the same purposes as education and health; society and the public authorities shall endeavor to promote the enjoyment of this right.”

Is this the right direction to go?
Your thoughts.
