This group does not have any discussions yet.
Oh yeah- we have Homosassa Springs, Weeki Watchi with manatees, and Chinsegut Conservation Center here within half an hour of our location, Golden Rainbow Ranch, in Brooksville. People would be welcome to camp out on our property instead of paying for a hotel. We also have a nature center where you could sleep on an air mattress, and an extra king and a single in our house.
I am aiming for something like a 2 day workshop in November. Would people be willing to travel to Brooksville? One group I would like to get out, and I have spoken to, is the "Nature Explore" outdoors classroom group. I am working on a grant with a women's shelter to get them an outdoors classroom from this program, and want to get our ranch certified as well. They do two different 3 hr. trainings for $1800, so let me know if you know of any grants that might cover this. If you would like to present your program, or do an activity or a lecture on your area of expertise, let me know!
I live in Jacksonville Florida looking to connect with others in tha area. Trying to form a group to pratice some skills... tracking, Bird language, awairness, etc... creating a stronger relationship with the earth as a teacher and mentor. Let get together and go on a journey.

We, Remote Footprints, just joined the Children and Nature Network and are excited to be apart of this network opportunity. Our mission is to help families and individuals build greater relationships with the natural world through experiential learning. We are based in the Florida panhandle (Tallahassee) and will be offering camping clinics, natural history hikes, citizen scientist activities, and other ways to get outside. We have a mailing list if anyone is interested in being notified of upcoming activities.
As for favorite parks, I am a big fan of all the coastal parks and St. George Island SP has always been near and dear to my heart. Children don't seem to need any entertainment at the beach and there is so much to learn!!
