Great article, Suz! Love the term "granny-fussing". Yep, that's what we do.

Comment by Margie on August 8, 2012 at 9:42am Hey Grands,
You can give your grandkids some lessons on character by using nature as a guide. Check this out: http://www.yourtruenature.com/library/images/Teacher%20Curriculum/K...

Comment by Suz Lipman on March 2, 2012 at 9:38am Hi All -- There is a new piece in the latest AARP Blog about the connection between the declining health of the environment and the health of future generations. Thought you might be interested. (Margie, the piece mentions the Rachel Carson Sense of Wonder Contest, as well. Thanks for sharing that with us!)
You can read it here:

Comment by Margie on February 1, 2012 at 12:05pm Hey Grands,
This is a contest for us! EPA's Rachel Carson Sense of Wonder Contest. It's intergenerational - submit an entry with your grandkids to show how you love nature.http://www.epa.gov/aging/resources/thesenseofwonder/index.htm
Comment by Carmen Field on September 13, 2011 at 8:06pm The round lunch challenge sounds like a great fun, Jane! We played something like that in the garden last week - taking turns finding round plant pieces & parts and bugs. Our town's Wooden Boat Festival happens every Sept. along the shoreline of Kachemak Bay in Homer, Alaska. My 6-year-old daughter's two festival highlights this year were our 6-mile bike ride out along the Homer Spit to/from the festival and getting to help row the ol' double-ender (in this photo).
Yes, Margie, there were definitely other things on most people's minds on the 11th.
