On Saturday, April 6th, Jackson Elementary School celebrated its second annual Let’s G.O.! event.
Last year we kicked off our garden with the Let's G.O.! event, and this year we put the final touches on the garden to prepare for our ribbon-cutting in May.
Parents, students and community members came together to move mulch, dig planter beds, paint tiles for a garden mosaic and create banners, so that our garden can be an engaging and inspiring place for our students.
Currently we take about 100 students out of their classroom and into the garden each week so they can learn about science, nutrition and the environment in a whole new way. During our Let’s G.O.! event, students were also able to tie-dye and run and play in our bubble extravaganza. It was a beautiful day to play, serve and celebrate outside with our community.
We are especially grateful to our Jackson alumna Lizbeth for all her help and inspiration.See more event photos on Facebook!
