Let's G.O.! 2011 was awesome, thanks to thousands of people opening their doors and getting outside to play, serve and celebrate. Juan Martinez and I are honored to co-chair this month of action and celebration. We were so inspired by all the creative ways people chose to get outside in 2011 that we can hardly wait to hear about your plans for this year. We're here to help in any way we can. Questions? In San Diego this year we are planning a "Military Families Nature Day" in April. We're trying to host it ON Camp Pendleton (marine base) but are having difficulty making the right connection on base who can help make that happen. Whatever venue we end up using, hundreds of military families from all branches will be invited and welcomed to attend this day of outdoor fun and exploration. We're aiming  to have some 25 exhibitors/local nature providers set up information and hands-on nature activities for families. Collabrating partners will be great and varied, in addition to event sponsors (Sierra Club, San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research, Family Adventures in Nature, and we're working to get a small grant from Kaiser, and hoping for more!).
