The National Environmental Education Foundation hosted the 18^th annual National Public Lands Day on September 24, 2011.  Over 2,000 public land sites hosted volunteer and educational activities in honor of parks, lakes, refuges, forests and community gardens.  It was a great day to be outside and make a difference in public lands.  National Public Lands Day partnered with the Natural Service Network and Serve Outside September to reach young people active in community service and encourage them to host a volunteer event in September. 

National Public Lands Day looks forward to working with Serve Outside September next year!
