Greetings:

Kids4Trees has entered into a national participating partnership with the USDA Forest Service to expand our programs throughout the various US Forest Regions, both in forests and in urban schools. Kids4Trees is international partner with the World Olympians Association. You can see on the Kids4Tree page the success we experienced this spring and earlier.

As Executive Director of Kids4Trees I personally organized the various events up to this point. Now urgently required is a dedicated person(s), familiar with the Forest Service and experienced in environmental education for elementary school-aged children, to act as General Manager on a full or substantial part-time basis from their home (preferably but not necessarily in California, where Kids4Trees is currently based and in incorporated as a nonprofit corporation.

The duties would be to assist in organizing regional coordinators and educators, communicating with schools and Scouts, arranging programs, coordinating with voluntary organizations for planting, school organizing, completing grant applications and fundraising, employing a communications person, securing children's singers and helping to organize art competition coordinators.  The salary would be as reasonably requested, dependent on sufficient contributions and grants.  Given our national presence and Forest Service partnership, in addition to consistently positive feedback and publicity, this should not prove difficult. Daily events involve between 150 and 500 children per day.

Gail Kimbell, former Chief of the USDA Forest Service will act as senior advisor to whomever would be acting as General Manager.

Kids4Trees has the endorsement of the Secretariat of the 2011 UN Year of the Forests and will, along with the WOA, organize tree planting events throughout the world. Other countries we are considering, subject to financial support, are South Africa, Senegal, Lesotho, UAE, India, Singapore, Beijing, Greece, Oslo (for the FAO convention in June), Canada, Australia, Brazil, Guatemala or Peru, France and, of course, throughout the USA.

Please contact me via the Network as soon as possible. Work would begin immediately after selection.

Wow, Stephen. You'd be lucky to have Shannon on board with your group. I'm thrilled that you've gotten a such a good response here.
Sounds like excellent work...I will be sending in my resume as well.
Wow. This is great! Best of luck, Christy and Shannon. (And good luck, Stephen, picking from at least two highly qualified candidates.)
It would be quite a bi-coastal project with all of us involved! I think Christy's work sounds so cool!
Likewise Shannon!!
It would be very exciting to see you all work together on this worthy program!
