nature-based elementary/middle schools

I have a colleague looking for a farm, outdoor/nature-based, or expedition learning type of school for her 8 year old son who has behavior and psychiatric issues that appear to respond well to physical activity and outdoor time.

Do you know of such schools, either in the Chicago area or any geographic area if they have a residential option, that would be equipped to work with a child of that age with these issues?

Any leads, to schools or others who might know, would be much appreciated.
