Pedro, the Severe Macaw pictured here with my husband,Charlie, died just after hurricane Alicia ripped through Houston,Texas. It wasn't the hurricane but the loneliness that we believe ended her life. Sometimes we spend too much time trying to fix what can wait while ignoring what needs us most.
