I work in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland promoting the use of outdoor learning in schools and other organisations that work with young people. I also promote the use of the John Muir Award an environmental award scheme that encourages the discovery, exploration and conservation of wild places.
1) Well I happen to do quite a lot of outdoor literacy courses through my work - it seems to be a very popular topic this term. If you're interested in my doing an outdoor literacy workshop then let me know. If there's a theme to the conference then usually I link the activities to this. For example, I've done outdoor literacy workshops on themes such as woodland literacy, journeys and roots to nature.
2) I was going to go to SLF but I've kind of overstretched myself a wee bit workwise so I need to catch up...Are you delivering one of the seminars?
3) Jill is super - very creative - she's helped me out on a course or two in the past before she got too much teaching work!!!

Hi Alan! I'll add my voice to the welcomes and am thrilled that you took Juliet and John up on their suggestions to join various groups here. They're a great place to enter the discussions and find like-minded people and resources. I hope we see you here often and learn more about your work and Cairngorms. Cheers!
Hi Alan. I also add my welcome to the Children & Nature Network site. You have an excellent background to help our Natural Teachers Network understand how to use the outdoors to enhance learning. I hope you join the NTN social networking site and share your ideas often. Welcome to the movement. John
Nice to see you here! Thanks for joining C&NN Connect. It's quite an interesting site - a little bit like a rabbit warren. However please do sign up to some of the groups where there is quite a bit of activity, especially the Natural Teachers Network.
