Bio
As a child I enjoyed wildflower and bird walks with my father. My sisters and I played with other children in the neighborhood building treehouses and exploring the creek in the woods behind our rural Missouri home. Our family began attending the National Wildlife Federation Conservation Summits when I was 12. We were led by esteemed naturalists such as Roger Tory Peterson. When my husband and I began having children of our own, we took them to the conservation summits. These are now run by an organization known as FNS-Family Nature Summits
I have spread the joy of nature as a girl scout leader, mother, aunt, and now elementary school science teacher. My graduate theses was titled: Encouraging Biophilia; How Schools Can Help.
