Bethe Almeras is an award-winning author, web producer, and eLearning designer. A long time educator and play advocate, she is passionate about outdoor play and connecting children with nature.

Bethe writes, speaks and consults as The Grass Stain Guru, and is considered a thought leader on play and nature, and a huge proponent of social media. (Make sure to tune into the #playoutdoors #nature #ECE and #GoPlay discussions on Twitter!)

Currently, Bethe is the Director of Education & Outreach for Head Start Body Start National Center for Physical Development and Outdoor Play, and blogs at The Body Smart Blog. She was also co-founder of the National Wildlife Federation’s Green Hour®, and has consulted with KaBOOM! and the Alliance for Childhood, among others.

A gifted speaker and trainer, Bethe also specializes in inclusive education and accessibility issues for individuals with disabilities, and believes that nature is an amazing way to reach and teach everyone.

The 12 Days of Christmas, Grass Stain Guru Style

On the 12th day of Christmas The Grass Stain Guru gave to me:



* 12 perfect snowflakes

* 11 stones a skipping

* 10 stars a twinkling

* 9 children giggling

* 8 frogs a croaking

* 7 kites a flying

* 6 rainbows gleaming

* 5 forts to build

* 4 scampering squirrels

* 3 trees to climb

* 2 box turtles

* And a grass stain on each knee!
