Bio: Camilla Rockwell began working in film in 1983 with historical documentary filmmaker Ken Burns. In 2000, she established Fuzzy Slippers Productions to produce films on creativity and the arts, healing and well being. She has produced diverse projects for PBS broadcast and private distribution including the series Body and Soul; PIONEERS OF HOSPICE, an award-winning educational program about the founders of the modern hospice movement; STONE RISING, a one-hour feature about master stone waller Dan Snow; and HOLDING OUR OWN which is currently helping to expand our national conversation about the end of life. Rockwell is in production on MOTHER NATURE'S CHILD, a film about the relationship between children and the natural world.

New Film MOTHER NATURE'S CHILD Now Available

We are pleased to announce that our film MOTHER NATURE'S CHILD: Growing Outdoors in the Media Age is finally finished! The DVD, along with a study guide insert, is now available (www.mothernaturesmovie,com) and screenings are being scheduled. The first one is January 12th at the Loew Theater in Hanover, NH, to be followed by a panel discussion.

Since watching it, I have thought often of the Hallowell chorus and of Deidre Scherer's incredibly beautiful art, especially as I was comforting my mother through her last days of lung cancer. How I wish we could have brought her that music!
I am writing now to let you know that our school in Essex Junction, VT, Summit Street School, is undertaking a project to build a natural playground. So, naturally, I am thrilled by the subject of your new project and wonder how we could share your film with our community? I don't know exactly when it is expected to be released or in what venues. Also, I am wondering if you would consider speaking to our community about your project. In addition to fundraising and working toward a final design plan, our project has been committed to educating our families and community about the benefits of play in nature, the No Child Left Inside Movement and why our new playground will be good for all of us. Your input, in person or by your film, would be the perfect way to bring this kind of education. Or, could we collaborate on a fundraising event of some kind? Thanks for your great work! and for even considering my ramblings above.
