Dave Guritz currently serves as the Director of the Office of Education for the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. His position responsibilities include oversight of the District’s public education centers, and the education outreach division. Dave is also a member of the Executive Council and Education Outreach Team for Chicago Wilderness, and serves on the Advisory Board of the FORWARD Coalition. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Lawrence University, and a Master’s degree in environmental management from the Illinois Institute of Technology. His career has focused on the development of cooperative and cutting-edge community-based environmental education services, projects, programs, trainings, and special events for schools, teachers, park districts and municipalities, and the citizens of DuPage County.
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is a strong proponent of the goals of the national “No Child Left Inside” campaign, and the “Leave No Child Inside” regional coalition initiatives.
