Nature Inspired Texture Painting

I have been having a lot of fun teaching an adult class that focuses on the textures in nature. I think it would make a great lesson for kids too!  I just had to share this awesome nature art lesson.First we discussed the element of texture and I shared how it inspires me as an artist in my own art. Dawn Malosh is the Director of Outside Art Lessons, a “plein air” art program that integrates art standards with discovery based environmental education. Throughout her many years in the field, Dawn has served as an art department head, an art specialist at multiple environmental, nature and conservation learning centers, an educational guide at the world-renowned Biosphere 2 and an esteemed presenter at various national conferences. Presently, Dawn teaches her Outside Art Programs at various outdoor locations throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore, serves as a Wetland Educator with Environmental Concern Inc., in St. Michaels, Maryland and creates a variety of nature-inspired artworks in her Sherwood, Maryland art studio.
