Bio
One time biology/science teacher, curriculum development officer and freelance outdoor education instructor prior to joining academia as a researcher and lecturer.
Having undertaken a Diploma in Outdoor Education many years ago I have tried to integrate outdoor activity into both my personal and professional life, having also taught a class in countryside studies to outdoor education students.
I am currently pursuing a research interest in biophilia and the importance of nature experience for all age groups, as well as an interest in science, society and sustainability. I currently work as a senior lecturer in the School of Education at Aberdeen university.
I am keen to develop this area within the university and work with both student teachers, teachers and other relevant professionals in taking this forward.

Hi Donald. Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you connected with the Scotland group. I hope we see you here often and that you find this a rich source of resources and camaraderie.

Hello Donald

Thanks for joining C&NN Connect. It's quite an interesting site - a little bit like a rabbit warren. However please do sign up to some of the groups where there is quite a bit of activity, especially the Natural Teachers Network.

I run the Scotland group and the International Group. By sheer chance I'm based just up the road in Inverurie.

Best wishes
Juliet
