One time biology/science teacher, curriculum development officer and freelance outdoor education instructor prior to joining academia as a researcher and lecturer.
Having undertaken a Diploma in Outdoor Education many years ago I have tried to integrate outdoor activity into both my personal and professional life, having also taught a class in countryside studies to outdoor education students.
I am currently pursuing a research interest in biophilia and the importance of nature experience for all age groups, as well as an interest in science, society and sustainability. I currently work as a senior lecturer in the School of Education at Aberdeen university.
I am keen to develop this area within the university and work with both student teachers, teachers and other relevant professionals in taking this forward.
Thanks for joining C&NN Connect. It's quite an interesting site - a little bit like a rabbit warren. However please do sign up to some of the groups where there is quite a bit of activity, especially the Natural Teachers Network.
