Bio
I have been a naturalist interpreter for most of my adult life, in an effort to encourage children (and adults!) to appreciate and interact with the habitats and ecosystems right in their own back yards. I began guiding at the Cincinnati Zoo and continued with organizations like "Nearby Nature" and Mt. Pisgah Arboretum in Eugene, OR, a Forest Service interpretive center along the Oregon Coast and summer programs here in Yachats. My mentor was Mel Jackson, who taught environmental awareness and wilderness survival courses through the U. of Oregon. His greatest gift was encouraging me first to learn about wild edible plants and then to teach others how to forage in the wild. Additional training came from courses I experienced with Jon Young at Wilderness Awareness School (wildlife tracking, tracking wolves in Idaho, The Art of Mentoring).
I'm currently teaching our local children how to identify animals by their signs and plan to create an interactive tracking book for kids based on tracks I photograph in the sand around Yachats. The hope is to have them first identify each animal and then be able to tell the story behind the tracks.

I have kids seeing faeries in summer camps that I direct for Quiet Heart W.S. out of Edmonds. They wanted to hear about my faerie dreams and kids experiences with faeries in my other camps and that is all it took. A bit of intention and manifesting and presto.

How are you? Love you. Hope you are doing great. Faerie hugs for you. Little Bear
