Elizabeth Renton is a landscape architect with Asakura Robinson Company in Houston, Texas. As a designer of outdoor spaces, Elizabeth has a passion for incorporating natural elements in children’s outdoor environments. She is currently engaged in a variety of public projects which will facilitate ‘nature play’, including several public and private schools as well as regional parks. Elizabeth is also co-founder of the Houston Children and Nature Coalition, a collaborative effort of Houston organizations dedicated to promoting the benefits of nature in children’s lives. Thanks, Elizabeth. It would be tough, I guess, to find hard data re longitudinal research, bec this trend toward children NOT in nature is a phenomenon mostly within one generation, which has not come fully into adulthood. It seems common sense. Thanks for the link to C&NN research!
