Babes in the Woods in the press!

I'm really excited to see my book get a bit of press time. It is in this months' edition of Alaska Airlines inflight magazine and Climbing and Mountain Gazette magazines. Even if people don't buy the book (and I hope they do!) at least they will see that folks can and do take little ones out on adventures at an early age--safely! Get 'em hooked before they crawl I say!

Shopping vs. Outdoor time

Just returned from Juneau, AK. I was down there (2 hour flight from Anchorage) with my son's school. They are trying to pass a bill naming the Malamute as the official state dog. The kids did a great job! Hopefully it will go to vote this session.

On our second day, we had a couple of free hours. The kids were given a choice of going to a playground or shopping downtown. I'm pleased to report that 9 out of 12 chose the park! Better yet, they tired of the playground after…

Final cover for Babes in the Woods book

The book just went to the printers. Attached is the final cover design for Babes in the Woods: Hiking, Camping, & Boating with Babies and Young Children. Cheryl Charles wrote a very nice review of the book.

Hi Jennifer

You'll be pleased to know that Amazon UK is now sending out your book! My pre-ordered copy arrived today and at first glance it looks great! So I'll digest the rest in due course.

Best wishes
Juliet

Hi Jennifer,
I believe you and I were on the same C&NN website focus group call last week. Nice to hear a voice from up the highway :o) Will your book be available through Alaska Geographic? If so, I can request we sell it down here at the AK Islands & Ocean Visitor Center in Homer. And would you be interested in having a book release event sometime this spring or next fall in Homer? I'm really looking forward to reading it! Cheers, Carmen Field

Hi, Jennifer. Welcome to C&NN. Congratulations on your book! It sounds fantastic and useful. Your enthusiasm is contagious and I have no doubt it resonates throughout your book.

I'm so glad you posted your events. You might also consider posting them on childrenandnature.org -- we will soon have an integrated calendar, but we don't yet -- and the .org web site is another source for families, individuals and nature clubs. Likewise, if you poke around here, you'll probably also find some local groups and friends -- although I know in Alaska, "local" is a relative term.

I look forward to seeing more of you and hearing about your adventures and book.
