new NC state coalition wants to involve youth more

The new N.C. Children and Nature Coalition (NCCAN!) has formally launched itself this past week ( after almost 2 years of planning) in Charlotte with Richard Louv in attendance. We announced the new website (www.ncchildrenandnature.org) and will be hosting our annual conference at the NC Zoo March 25, 2010. The Zoo has a Zoo HIgh School as part of the local school system with the actual classrooms/high school on site. They would like to become… Continue

Hey Kathy,

We are getting such a great response to Let’s G.O.! that we are wanting to create a flow of information to make it easy for people to find and read about events.

We are hoping to consolidate the discussions into these three main areas:

“How are you Planning to Play, Serve, Celebrate?”

“How did your Let’s G.O.! Get Outside event go?

“Let’s Go Get Media Attention”

Would you be willing to move your discussion titled Let's G.O.! - making it a reply to the discussion “How are you planning to Play, Serve, Celebrate?”  and removing it as an actual discussion?  I know this is asking for more of your time so know it is really appreciated!  Please email me with any questions.  Thanks!  Avery

I am working with a subchapter of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation on a great community project. Our sub-chapter; HAWK (Habitat And Wildlife Keepers) will be establishing the town of Matthews, NC as a "community wildlife habitat" certified by NWF. We will be the third town in NC to have this designation and we'll be the largest. We are just getting uderway but this will include families. It's not a "Family Nature Club" per say, but lends itself to the same concepts.
I look forward to reading the conference reports.

Kathy,
Would you be interested in coming to Charlotte on April 17th to speak on the NCCAN organization? Last year, we had over 3700 in attendance at; Charlotte Clean and Green, held on the campus of Central Piedmont Community College.

Kathy,
I'll be more than happy to let you be the one who creates the NC group so that it's in your name. I certainly don't want to give the impression that I started it. Would you like me to delete the group so that you can set it up? No problem at all from my end. Plus, I couldn't quite get the logo to show entirely.

I was a bit concerned that I was taking liberties without permission. I'm happy you are ok with it. I'll be happy to help where I can but I've just about over extended my self.
I'll give you a call and we'll talk it over.
Thanks,
-Ernie
