Leann Ferry grew up in Sacramento, CA - 1.5 hours from the mountains and the sea. She lived her 20s and 30s in Alaska, and now at 45 is living in Beijing, China. She's a mother, wife, daughter, friend, sister, adventure mom, master's toting, 13 years married, full time mom for 9 years. She has two children ages 9 and 6. In 2010, she had breast cancer and when she thought she was going to die realized she wasn't the parent she wanted to be. She had the will, but not the skills to be different. So she studied parenting and is now a certified parenting coach.
She believes strongly that parenting is a practice to be improved over time and that the result of this is thriving children and deepening family relationships. She loves the outdoors and skis, backpacks, hikes, camps, ice skates, runs, bikes, and climb mountains - nothing in the extreme, but dabbles in them all. She loves to read (especially about parenting), study languages, and play guitar, dance and sing with family and friends. She's a passionate observer of human communications and loves to dissect and evaluate interactions. She believes that when it comes to parenting we can all learn from each other, but only if we are willing to talk openly and respectfully. Wolf Parents Rising is her chance to have this conversation with a wider group and to share with you her experiences and observations on parent child communications and parenting as a practice.
