Are We Here Yet?

I recently went hiking with a friend in the Angeles National Forest.  We manage to get together on the trail about once a month.  Our hikes are a great way to get out into nature – and to catch up, socialize, and solve the world’s problems.  It was a perfect morning and we picked a great trail – a 10 mile out-and-back that promised spectacular vistas, pine forests, mountain geology - postcard quality stuff. We were well along on our hike when we reached a signpost noting that we were 1.8 miles…See More

"Scott, Right on the money.  I catch myself aggrandizing this thing called nature, and also expecting all nature experiences to be profound and cathartic.  Perhaps nature is at it's best when we are immersed in it and we can appreciate…"

Scott D. Sampson commented on Manny Kiesser's blog post What the Potomac River Taught Me About Tai Chi

Manny Kiesser replied to Dave Room's discussion Does the Nature Connection movement need a Soundtrack?
"Dave, Love the question - and yes, I think our movement needs soundtracks - plural.  Popular music as a messenger and means to engage kids, but also the music from our respective cultural heritages.  I'm not a music historian or…"

Suz Lipman commented on Manny Kiesser's blog post What the Potomac River Taught Me About Tai Chi
"Hi Manny! Thanks for this wonderful blog. I really appreciate your very vivid description of practicing tai chi and infusing the experience with the surrounding nature to such a degree that the barriers between nature and self are quite minimal.…"
