I started off as a Physical Education teacher in the secondary sector before retraining as a Landscape Architect. I now combine both these aspects working for Learning through Landscapes, which is the UK's national school grounds charity. I've worked for LTL for fifteen years now and my role includes developing new ideas and programmes as well as delivering on specialist aspects. In 2003 I received a Churchill fellowship allowing me to visit school grounds in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, USA and Bermuda and I try and keep the international contacts going for LTL.
I've just been asked to create an "International C&NN Connect" group so please do stop by and say hello there. It will provide a place for people to share news, views, ideas and activities from all over the world.
Oh yes...and the Scotland group welcomes members from all over the world too.
I'm looking at the information for the conference in Winchester, and it sounds great! I hope to attend. I live in Brussels so it would not be too long of a trip. I am going to talk to my director on Monday! It sounds like a wonderful opportunity.
Thanks for the flag up re the international conference. At the moment I have a rather hectic work schedule so I'm just waiting a week or two before deciding whether to attend the international/Coombs conference - though it does sound very good and interesting.
Hope all's well and I'm sure our paths will cross again soon.
Hi Mary! Glad you found our forum and have joined some groups. Your event sounds terrific. I look forward to learning much more about what you're doing and hope you find the forum a rich source of resources and sharing.
