Profile Information

Title or Role: Elementary School Teacher

Organization: Puyallup School District

Bio: I am currently teaching sixth grade, but for most of my career taught fourth. For about ten years I led a group of amateur naturalists, studying the natural areas at our school. We had mixed woodland, forested wetland, scrub wetland, and a seasonal pond available to us on site. I have since transferred to a school in a much more urban setting, but I am looking for ways to make our grounds more inviting to a variety of wildlife, and encourage teachers to get outside in this day and age of testing insanity.

My personal interests are birds, native plants, writing, and photography.

Meeker Courtyard Naturalists - 5/24/12

I met yesterday with my small group of Meeker Courtyard Naturalists for an hour after school. After some instruction on how to take field notes, we went outside and walked around the building.
