Let's start the Let's G.O. campaign with a bang this year!

The Children and Nature Network (C&NN) recognizes the importance of reconnecting our society to the natural world, especially our children. Their Natural Families Network promotes family activities that encourage learning, play and growing in the natural world. Natural Families believes that children who spend time in nature are happier, healthier and smarter, and aspire to share their experiences with other families. One way that families can get involved in outdoor activities is through…See More

The Tipping Point for The New Nature Movement

In his national best selling book “The Tipping Point” author Malcolm Gladwell discusses a few reasons that some products and ideas become huge success stories and others do not. Mr. Gladwell argues that at some point in time "an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire."  Successful products or ideas that spread over a wide demographic do so not because of the direct actions of their creators but because they happened to catch the attention of…

Hi Nkrumah!

I see that Suz already gave you links for the Family Nature Club Tool Kit, as well as the link to register your new family nature club. In the Took Kit, you'll find a page you can use and/or edit to fit your needs regarding liability issues. I modified it a little and typed it out on the top of our sign-in sheets. I know that other FNCs have done the same. This might be an interesting conversation to start here in the NFN forum. I'm curious how others are tackling this subject as well. No one that I know of has ever had to put anything to the "test", as there have been no problems that I know of.

Let me know if you need help starting a discussion, or if there's anything else I can do!

All the best,

Janice

I certainly agree with that! And lots of places have an abundance of nature but still don't have people out enjoying it. I appreciate all you're doing to get people aware and outside in South Mississippi.

Hey there Nkrumah. How are you? I left you a message about this on Facebook, too.

You can download a Family Nature Club tool kit and other info here:

http://www.childrenandnature.org/movement/naturalfamiliestools/

To register your family nature club, go here:

www.childrenandnature.org/directory/

And, lastly, please do get involved in our Natural Families Network here on the forum. You'll find lots of other club leaders also starting out, as well as experienced nature club leaders like Janice.  It's a great place to share and get info. Hope to see you there. Cheers.
