Hi Sharon! I just caught your wonderful Q&A on Grist/Onearth. It's truly terrific and very helpful (I resisted writing "concrete"!) Lovely that you referenced Richard Louv. I hope your wonderful book is being well received. We featured the article on the C&NN home page. Please keep us posted on your book and work. Cheers!

Oh I'm jealous! I've yet to meet Cam Collier but I spent a wonderful afternoon 2.5 years ago in Toronto with the Evergreen team who showed me their work. It's also good to know that Sue Humphries is getting out and about. After her years of incredible work at The Coombes School, it's good to see international recognition coming her way. She and Sue Rowe have a book that's due to be published in Spring 2011. I think this will be an interesting read - I first heard about The Coombes School when I picked up a book called "The Creative School" several years ago.
On that note - your own book is now available in the UK via Amazon. I have to apologise for not reviewing it yet - it is so clearly a labour of love and passion as well as a really useful reference. I really like the fact that you've got photos and examples from many different countries. I felt compelled to lend it to a nursery I've been working with as it hit the right note, last week. As it stands, I think you've produced a book that will be recognised as a milestone within the world of schoolyard design and change.
Enjoy your weekend!

All the best with your work and may the book sell far and wide across the globe.

Thanks for joining C&NN Connect. The internet drums are rattling hard and quick. Scotland knows about your book! Frode Svane sent a message out to his contacts and so now the whole world knows!
There's quite a few authors on this website. This does impress me- I struggle to find time to write a memo let alone a whole book.
Best wishes and thanks for joining International C&NN Connect.
Best wishes

PS Our paths did cross at The Coombes School in June. But there were quite a few people there and so I would be surprised if you remembered. But I've blogged extensively about the day on I'm a teacher, get me OUTSIDE here!
