Hi Valerie! Welcome to the forum. Of course, I recognize the Placer Nature Center from Twitter -- You've been a good friend! The activities at PNC sound wonderful, too. I'm in the SF Bay area and love to spend time out your way. I hope you'll find the forum rich with camaraderie and resources. You might want to look into the Natural Teachers Group for starters.
