Spring time-Being Green

We are very excited to except this award for our 6th school year as a Michigan Green School.  This is our first year as an Evergreen status.  We received acknowledgment for 20+ points for our conservation efforts.

If I Were a Tree

If I were a tree, just for the day,

Would my perspective change on what humans say?

Mankind states nature is wild and free,

But is that what I would discover and what I would see?

I would find root systems that communicate things,

And perhaps observe people as the wild beings.

I’d witness them breathing in what I breathe out,

And know we were connected without any doubt.

Skunk Cabbage, it's here!

I

love I love skunk cabbage. It is one of my favorite signs of spring. As a child, I would carefully navigate the edge of brooks and swamps, making sure not to step on skunk cabbage plants.
