We are of the Earth.…

LINDSAY LOVES TO CHASE SQUIRRELS.
A few weeks ago I had the privilege of sharing time outdoors with a class from Peachland Elementary. I was visiting the school to help promote the "Let's Go Outside Revolution". Schools and teachers can play a big part in helping children connect with nature. Here are just a few of the topics we will cover for the video series.
Last night I was up late making banners and cutting strips of material for a cause I hold dear to my heart. Getting Kids Outside!
Tomorrow is the launch of the "Let's Go Outside" Revolution, a non-profit organization with a mission to actively engage children with nature. (Revolution Website launches 29th April).
The Let’s Go Outside Revolution is about growing a generation of happy…Continue
It’s the second week of our Spring Break. Even though the kids are on holiday, like so many mums, I still have to juggle work – illustrations to be completed, orders to be dispatched, a laundry pile to be tackled, emails to be sent and phone calls to be made.
As I sat in front of my computer replying to emails, Sam appeared, his face beaming with excitement. “Check out this squirrel mum, it came right up to me while I was on the deck”.

Like most girls her age, she is discovering being a teenager can be stressful.
Time in nature allows her to reconnect with what is real, what is true.
Sharing that time with her is precious.
Our time spent together in nature not only calms us but brings us closer…Continue

Sadly today, children spend 90% of their time indoors.
I am passionate about getting children outdoors and connecting with nature. I believe if we inspire a love for nature in a child, it will lead to a desire to protect it. First we have to give children the opportunity and freedom to go outside and explore, discover…Continue
We move to our new house this week and while clearing out his room, Samuel found a blank canvas. "Oh mum, can I do a splat painting for my new bedroom?"
"Of course you can Samuel" I said and gladly handed him my basket of paints.
He headed out to the back garden and lay his blank canvas on the snow.
Samuel was in his element.
He was completely and utterly free, wild and spirited…Continue
