Today's Trail with the Taiga Trekkers

Taiga Trekkers took off today on another fabulous section off the paved trail network that weaves its way all around Anchorage's greenbelt system. This town's trail system/bike path is phenomenal and an environmentalist's dream. It allows those who take advantage of it so many opportunities. My husband has rarely used his truck in weeks, preferring to ride his bike or run to work on it. You never have to deal with the inherent danger of crossing a road once (a huge relief for parents). Their… Continue

From the Top of North America - One Dad's Climb Up Denali

It is an amazing experience for our 2.25 year-old son to be part of the preparation process for such an exciting life adventure that his "Bop" is setting out on. I'll be updating our family's blog: Two and a Half in a Blue Cataraft,…

Live the life you want your child to lead...

A friend of mine recently posted the quote "Live the life you want your child to lead." Who originally said it, I have know clue. I shared the quote with my husband who was starting to feel guilty about his time away from our son, as he trains for his attempt to summit Denali (Mt. McKinley), the tallest peak in North America in June. While it is true, due to his demanding job and the training he doesn't get to spend as much time home as he wants, and sometimes I have to kick him out the door…
